Binita Mehta-Parmar is Director of Modern Britain, a centre-right think tank exploring innovative thinking on a range of issues important to BME communities. She was the last Conservative Group leader at Watford Borough Council: at 25, the youngest council group leader in the country, first Hindu and first Indian woman to ever represent Watford. She is currently Deputy Chair Political of Watford Conservatives anD was recently recognised as a “35 under 35 Young Leader in India-UK Relations” by India Inc.
Binita is also on the board of the Barrow Cadbury Trust, member of the Fawcett Society's Women in Local Government Commission, Trustee of a theatre with a focus on diversity and Governor of a local free school. Professionally, Binita works as a consultant in communications, public affairs and public relations. She holds a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Warwick University and tweets at @Binita_MP.
